How We Tested the Best Sig Sauer P320 Grip Modules

As someone who uses my Sig Sauer P320 for just about everything, I've tried a bunch of grip modules and other accessories. So it was a no-brainer to bring my personal, hands-on experience to you.

To pick the best, I looked for grip modules that cover a lot of different bases -- home defense, concealed carry, competitive shooting, hiking, you name it. I also took into account durability, reliability, looks, and, of course, value.

All of the models listed have been heavily researched and/or hands-on tested with a Sig P320 and determined to meet the above criteria.

Best Sig Sauer P320 Grip Modules

1. Wilson Combat Grip Module - Best Overall Sig P320 Grip Module

Pros

  • Compatible with P320 holsters
  • Integrated flared magazine well
  • Surprisingly affordable

Cons

  • Not as slick as the full WCP320

Specs

  • Sizes: Full-size, carry, compact
  • Colors: Black, gray, green, tan
  • Manual Safety: Optional

Wilson Combat made a name for itself with 1911s, but the company has expanded into several other handgun platforms, including the P320.

They offer complete guns, like the high-end WCP320, but they also sell their grip module by itself (wise move).

At around $65, it's surprisingly affordable for a Wilson Combat product.

Wilson Combat P320 grip module.

Its 'Starburst' grip pattern looks good, sure, but it really feels fantastic in hand. This texture grips your palm but won't rub you raw when you carry it close to the body.

Wilson Combat undercut the trigger guard for a higher grip and paired it with a 1911-style beavertail for a nice high grip. Wilson claims it's the highest grip possible, and it's tough to doubt them.

The grip module also features an integrated magwell that makes those reloads quicker and more intuitive. Inside the grip, there are slots for the Sig’s recoil-reducing tungsten weight kit.

If you like your holster, you can keep your holster! Seriously, it's compatible with all standard P320 holsters, and that's a rather nice feature when mixing things up. At only $65, it's a very affordable and well-done aftermarket grip module.

2. Sig X-Series - Best Polymer OEM Sig P320 Grip Module

Best Polymer OEM

Pros

  • Factory OEM
  • Improved grip texture and ergonomics
  • Available in three sizes

Cons

  • Short accessory rail

Specs

  • Sizes: Full-size, carry, compact
  • Colors: Black, gray, tan
  • Manual Safety: Optional

Let's say you see the value of polymer, but the OEM grip module doesn't do it for you. Then the X-Series of grip modules might be just what you're looking for.

These grip modules improve the grip texture, and that texture goes all the way to the top of the module.

P320 X-Compact grip
Sig P320 X-Compact grip module.

Sig's X-Series modules come in full, compact, and carry sizes, which reflect their width, not their overall height. Mine is the compact X-Series grip module.

X-Series grip modules have a trigger guard undercut combined with an aggressive beavertail for that excellent high grip we all want. An integrated flared magwell is a nice touch that provides a slightly smoother reload without adding external snag points.

It's incredibly comfortable and a noticeable upgrade to the standard OEM option. Overall, these grip modules are slightly thinner and more rectangular than the stock grips.

A big downside to the X-Series is the somewhat short rail, which makes it tough to fit a full-sized weapon light on your weapon.

3. Sig AXG - Best Metal Sig P320 Grip Module

Pros

  • Heavy metal = less recoil
  • Grip texture everywhere
  • Get that hammer-fired feel again

Cons

  • Expensive

Specs

  • Sizes: Carry
  • Colors: Black, flat dark earth, titanium
  • Manual Safety: No

AXG stands for Alloy X-Series Grip module. It's a metal grip module that's very much a throwback to Sig's consistently excellent hammer-fired metal frame pistols.

The AXG gives you that classic Sig looks and feel of a hammer-fired gun P-series pistol but with striker-fired simplicity and reliability. It is designed for use with compact and full-size slides but the grip itself is carry-sized.

P320 AXG grip

Sig sells the AXG grip modules directly from the website, and they vary in finish and grip color. Mine is the Scorpion variant, which is their fancy way of saying it's FDE with G-10 Scorpion grip panels.

The AXG grip module feels fantastic and features almost 360 degrees of grip texture to ensure it sticks in your hand.

A prominent beavertail greets the web of your hand and enables you to get a nice, high grip on the weapon, especially when you look at the trigger undercut.

While the AXG Module is pricey, this is the way to go if you want that classic, metal P226 feel for your P320. The closest thing to a downside I can come up with is that it doesn't work with my P320 ETS magazines.

4. Mirzon - Best Sig P320 Grip Module for Recoil

Best for Recoil

Pros

  • Comfy grip panel inserts
  • Improved ergonomics
  • Lots of fun color options

Cons

  • Somewhat expensive

Specs

  • Sizes: Full-size, carry, compact
  • Colors: Black, gray, green, tan, bronze, copper, purple, blue, gold, red, white
  • Manual Safety: Optional

Mirzon sounds a lot like a fancy beer, but in reality, it might be one of the most practical upgrades you can make to your Sig P320.

Sig P320 Mirzon grip
P320 Mirzon grip module.

The Mirzon grip revamps the pistol's ergonomics in an ingenious way.

First, the grip texture has been rubberized. It's sticky and clings to your hand without biting into your skin like aggressive grip textures. My grip never slides, regardless of how long I shoot. It even helps stabilize my one-handed shooting.

There is a noticeable reduction in recoil, making the weapon much easier to control. I assume the rubberized texture, combined with a high trigger guard undercut and unique beavertail, are the reasons behind this.

The grip comes in almost any color and finish you can think of, and it's compatible with the X-series grip weights and magwells.

It's a fascinating aftermarket option for the P320 and it's my go-to when I shoot steel challenge.

5. Amend2 S300 - Best CCW Sig P320 Grip Module

Best CCW
Amend2 S300 P320 Grip Module
Amend2 S300 P320 Grip Module
$38

Pros

  • Super CCW-friendly
  • Uses shorter P365 magazines
  • Keep your full-size optic

Cons

  • Tricky to manage recoil with that stubby grip

Specs

  • Sizes: Full-size, compact
  • Colors: Black
  • Manual Safety: No

Want to shrink your P320? Like, really shrink that bad boy down to a teeny tiny gun capable of deep carry? If so, this is the grip module for you!

It comes from Amend2, a company known primarily for making magazines. What they did here is shrink the P320 beyond subcompact size.

P320 Amend2 S300 grip
P320 Amend2 S300 grip.

Instead of using the standard double-stack P320 mags, the module uses Sig P365 mags. This allows for a much smaller grip module while retaining 10 to 15 rounds of capacity.

I find the 12-round magazine with the +2 MagGuts kit is perfect in conjunction with this.

The Amend2 S300 grip gives me a P320 that's only a hair bigger than my P365. However, I maintain my excellent Legion trigger, full-sized optic, and increased control.

I thought I might run into reliability issues, but it's been problem-free for several hundred rounds.

It’s a solid design and I don't need to swap guns when I need something smaller — I just switch grip modules.

6. Fire Control Unit X01 PDW - Best PDW Sig P320 Grip Module

Best PDW
X01 Personal Defense Weapon Platform GEN2
X01 Personal Defense Weapon Platform GEN2
$399
at Fire Control Unit
Prices accurate at time of writing

Pros

  • Carbine ergonomics in a pistol-size package
  • Two brace options
  • Accepts Picatinny optic mounts

Cons

  • Limits carry options

Specs

  • Sizes: PDW (accepts full-size, compact, and carry slides)
  • Colors: Black
  • Manual Safety: Optional

Wildcard! The Fire Control Unit X01 PDW, or X01 for brevity-sake, isn't your standard grip module.

Instead, it converts your P320 into a big, braced, personal defense weapon. You drop in your FCU and attach your slide, and you are good to go!

X01 PDW Gen2

The futuristic outer shell gives you subgun-like handling in a small package with the firearm you already own.

Choose between a 1913 rail for attaching braces or a PDW-type collapsing brace. The X01 features HK-style charging handles, a massive optic rail, and accessory rails.

It's still a handgun by definition but don't expect to conceal this rig unless you're packing your bug out bag. As a tradeoff, you'll get more stability and less recoil to help enhance your ability to reach and touch a target at longer ranges.

It's a sweet rig that flexes your P320 into a role more adept for those home defense tasks and fast, accurate follow-up shots. Is it wild? Yeah but c'mon, the future is now!

Honorable Mention

7. Sig Sauer P320-FLUX Legion

Pros

  • Tons of power in a small package
  • Collapsible brace and built-in magazine carrier
  • Slide-integrated compensator

Cons

  • Expensive

Specs

  • Caliber: 9mm
  • Action: Semi-automatic, striker-fire
  • Capacity: 30+1
  • Barrel Length: 3.9"
  • Overall Length: 10.9"
  • Weight: 49 oz
  • Optic-Ready: Yes

Hear me out on this one.

Sig Sauer recently released the P320-FULX Legion, and it's awesome. Home defense and truck guns don't get a whole lot better than this.

Sig Sauer P320 Flux Legion deployed
Sig Sauer P320-FLUX Legion

It's a fully-built firearm chock full of factory upgrades, not a grip module.

But I think buying one makes a lot of sense if you're new to Sig. Buying one of these and turning it into a conventional pistol with an aftermarket grip module is a lot more economical than buying an entry-level P320 and trying to transform it into something like this.

And you'll be left with the ability to piece together some pretty awesome firearms.

See? I'm always finding ways to "save money."

How to Choose the Best Sig P320 Grip Module

Before you go swiping that credit card on gun parts, ask yourself what brought you to there in the first place.

Are you looking for more control? Do you want something heavier and more premium-feeling? Does your P320 need to shed a few inches to get ready for CCW duty?

1791 OWB Leather Holster with P320, Front
Sig Sauer P320 in a 1791 OWB leather holster.

Which grip module you choose has everything to do with why you want to replace the original one. A PDW system is super effective and fun to shoot, but not if you want to carry it in an AIWB holster.

Do I Need an FFL for a P320 Module?

When you install a new grip module (or rather, install all your existing parts into a new grip module), it can feel like you're building a whole new gun.

But you're not. Whichever individual component bears the serial number is the "gun," in legal terms. If you own a P320, that component is the trigger group (fire control unit, in Sig speak).

Since the FCU is the serialized portion of the firearm, you can swap out every other component yourself to effectively build a totally different pistol on demand.

And it's totally law-abiding.

Final Thoughts

I'm a little surprised there aren't more aftermarket options for the P320. If someone designed a P320 grip module that accepted Glock mags, the world would explode.

I think FCU designs like those used in Sig’s P320, P250, and P365 are the future. This system allows for a level of customization that has never been possible before, and the future seems even more promising.
