We’ve probably all found ourselves squinting into the sun through clear lenses or straining to see through dark eye pro as the sky clouded over. The fix for that is a set of eye pro that adapts to lighting conditions.
ShellShock just announced two new glasses equipped with photochromic lenses. The new SunShift shooting glasses are ANSI Z87.1-rated for ballistic protection and respond to changing lighting with Adaptive Light Technology.

Avoiding mishaps is half the battle, so they also feature anti-scratch and anti-fog treatments, and a coating that prevents oily smudges from your fingers or gassy semi-automatic firearms. That way, your vision is protected against more range hazards than just the sun.
They only weigh one ounce and cost less than $100. In fact, a kickoff sale has them marked down to $79.
If you prefer a wraparound-style frame, ShellShock also just announced the new Eclipse shooting glasses.

This eye pro features ANSI Z87.1+ ballistic protection, FogGuard Pro, and the same Adaptive Light Technology. The frame comes in black or tan, and you can use them with or without a cushioned nose piece to get an ideal fit.
I got an early peek at the Eclipse shooting glasses during the SHOT Show 2025 range days, and the adaptive lenses were impressive. They got plenty dark enough for the Las Vegas midday sun but brightened right up when I got back in the car. It was definitely better than carrying two sets of eye pro or trying to predict the weather.

ShellShock lists an MSRP of $119 for the Eclipse ballistic glasses with ALT lenses.
