SOPC stands for Sustained Operations Plate Carrier. This is for people who need to wear body armor and lots of other equipment for days on end, like military and law-enforcement professionals.

The concept behind the SOPC is simple: give you plenty of room for gear without compromising your ability to move comfortably.

The secret sauce is a FlexFit cummerbund that adjusts as you move. The clever design uses sliding adjustments under a Velcro rear placard to fit people who wear size small to extra-large shirts. An XXL cummerbund is also available.

Once it's fastened, the system stretches to let you breathe, bend, and move naturally.

Of course, there are more conventional ways to keep you comfortable under the weight of body armor.

The SOPC also features breathable mesh backing to wick heat and moisture away from your body. The shoulder straps come with additional padding, which you can remove if you don’t want it.

Got more gear? Of course you do. The SOPC is covered in laser-cut MOLLE and generous loop panels for magazine pouches, an IFAK, comms gear, patches, and whatever else you want to stick on there. (Check out RTS Tactical’s plate carrier accessories while you’re shopping.)

Oversized plate pockets accommodate either 10-inch-by-12-inch or 11-inch-by-14-inch plates. And yes, there is room for soft armor backers.

Color options include black, ranger green, and Multicam.

Best of all, the SOPC is surprisingly affordable. If you’re looking for an alternative to your minimalist body armor setup or a scalable, do-it-all plate carrier, give the SOPC a look.

RTS Tactical lists an MSRP of $299.99 for the SOPC in black or green, and $329.99 for Multicam.
