When it comes to various science fiction, what is the most realistic subset when it comes to weaponry?
Cyberpunk!
From Altered Carbon to Johnny Mnemonic, cyberpunk is one of my favorite genres. I’m a huge fan! I credit that love to the realistic display of futuristic weaponry.
The guns and gear are less lasery than other sci-fi flicks. In the cyberpunk world you will often see technology-infused lead chunkers.Â
As much as I love Star Wars, I’ll always choose Deckard’s gun over Han Solo’s blaster.Â
Cyberpunk paints a dim light on a future world that’s often imposed with a combination of neon lights and grimy cities. That grit and futurism often combine to present weaponry and gear that looks authentic.
In we are headed down the path to a cyberpunk world, what guns and gear would fit that mold?Â
For the Love Of Cyberpunk
I’ve found 10 guns and gear that fit the cyberpunk genre to a tee. Whether you’re looking for something unique to add to your collection or you’re planning for the future, check out our suggestions below.
1. CTRL TS1 Glasses
I tried to get my hands on a set of these glasses, but the company seems to have fluctuating stock. Not to mention, E-tint is producing PPE for the COVID crisis, so it might be tough to get them right now.
I can’t speak from personal experience, but the CTRL glasses have that cyberpunk aesthetic.Â
The CTRL Glasses utilize a set of tech we typically see in the lenses on welder’s masks. What does this do for the wearer? It gives the glasses the ability to instantly change from shaded to clear with a button’s press.
Instant adaption from bright to dark situations with nothing more than the press of a button? Sign me up!
A hands-free auto mode also exists but I’d have to check that out before bindly trusting. It seems promising, though.
Bonus points: the glasses exceed military standards for ballistic eyewear.Â
Featuring an internal rechargeable battery, these specs will failsafe to clear should something break or the battery dies. I hope to get my hands on a pair soon.
(Hopefully, before I have to fight evil cyborgs in a city that is both brightly lit by neon, but full of dark and shady corners.)

2. Crimson Trace LiNQ
The LiNQ is a criminally underrated system with a lot of potentials. The LiNQ is a wireless laser and light system planting its controls into your weapon’s pistol grip. A secure wireless collection does away with the need for manual controls, pressure switches, or anything else.
The LiNQ system was built for both AK and AR series rifles. It includes the control grip amd a 300 lumen light with an integral green laser. While the light lacks the power I’d want on a weapon light, I still find the LiNQ fascinating.
Putting the power of one-handed weapon light controls in the hands of AR and AK fans, it ensures you’re ready to stay in the fight — even if your support arm go down.
On top of that, you can remain mobile and flexible when taking cover. There’s no need to reach forward, potentially beyond cover, to activate your light and laser.
Eventually, I would love to see this system expanded beyond the AR and AK platforms. I’m looking at you, pump-action shotguns.
The Crimson Trace LiNQ could be slightly cooler. A little bootup noise as I press the button on the pistol grip as I enter the dark server room of a malicious artificial intelligence would be a nice touch.

3. Recover Tactical 20/20
Do you guys consider the game series Borderlands as cyberpunk?
If not, then skip ahead.
For those like me that do consider it part of the cyberpunk genre, the Recover Tactical 20/20 combined with a Glock looks like something right out of Borderlands.
The RT 20/20 is a brace system that makes a plain Jane Glock look like a futuristic submachine gun.Â
With the soon-to-be-released optic’s mount in place, the RT 20/20 looks even ready to tackle any oppressive, post-apoclayptic future. This polymer brace system is lightweight and offers a folding brace, various rail mounts, and even a holster system for convenient carry.
The RT 20/20 is an interesting modification that not only changes how your Glock looks, but also how it handles. It’s fairly easy to use at various ranges.
The Recover Tactical 20/20 brace system is also affordable and modular. When paired with a variety of the crazy Glock accessories out there, it can look like a dystopian corporate police weapon.

4. Tracking Point Mi6
Tracking Point was born too soon. Another 30 years and they’d likely be right at home in a corporate-owned police state. The flesh is weak, the brain is stupid, but the tech is our guide to a better world.
Or any other transhumanism propaganda you wish to shout.
If you can get behind that, then the Tracking Point Mi6 is for you. This is a Stag Arms AR-15 outfitted with the Tracking Point optic.
The optic is the brain of the system, allowing the rifle to engage with insane, computer-generated precision.
The Mi6 has several modes that allow for free-fire, precision stationary shooting, and precision moving. Precision modes will not allow you to shoot unless you are holding the rifle to adequately compensate for range and windage.
It fills in the gaps, which the human eyes, brain, and fingers fail.

5. Maxim 9mm
One downside that’s been present since day one in the firearms world is that loud and often brutal noise a firearm makes when discharging a round.
That bang is downright unpleasant. And that’s why we have suppressors, kids. But suppressors often make your firearm long and unwieldy, especially on a handgun.
The Maxim 9mm from SilencerCo challenges that expectation. This integrally suppressed pistol is admittedly larger than most handguns, but it’s smaller than a suppressed pistol.
It’s easier to holster and conceal while also being effective at dampening a weapon’s report.
The Maxim 9 introduces a much more enjoyable and ultimately safer shooting experience.
In a world where people are living on top of each other in megacities, noise pollution is a legit concern.
Possible uses? Dispatching pollution-mutated super rats without disturbing the whole block.Â
While it’s not quiet enough to satisfy the needs of James Bond or an assassin, it’s a pleasant weapon in a loud world.Â

6. Meprolight ForeSight
Arguable, we are already versions of cyborgs due to constant access to the internet and variable supercomputers that fit in our pockets.
Why not further wire our portable brains into weaponry?Â
The Meprolight ForeSight does just that.
Linking to a mobile device (unless you are a weirdo with a Windows phone), it allows you to control the optic via your smartphone. This includes setting up 10 different profiles for different weapons or loads.
Looking into the future, where your caseless ammo comes in subsonic and supersonic, multiple zeroes makes sense.
Or maybe you own 10 different weapons, but only one optic? If that’s the case, then the Foresight still makes sense.
Through your phone, you can zero the optic, swap reticles, and set up advanced options like an onboard shot counter to let you know when ammo is low.
Looking through the optic doesn’t mean you are just looking at a reticle. Instead, you have a full heads-up display that shows the reticle, battery life, sight leveler, compass, and the aforementioned shot counter.
If the future is versatile, then the Foresight is the future.

7. The Corner Shot
Do tactics top technology? If so, does pieing a corner beat peaking around it with a camera enhanced chassis holding a handgun? Why break cover when you can shoot around it.
The Corner Shot is a device that holds a handgun…but in a rifle length system. To the side of that system is a monitor, and below the gun is a camera and light.
The camera gives a live feed to the monitor and allows the wielder to shoot around corners — all without exposing themselves to fire.
When avoiding cybernetic drones and dogs equipped with thermal vision, tools like this will be invaluable. While you can’t avoid the sniffers, you can dodge most people, robots, and other things.
The Corner Shot was designed by an Israeli colonel, and it has seen service around the world. Perfect for you and the inevitable and terrible future that’s coming at us.
8. SIG BDX
The SIG BDX is like a Tracking Point system but affordable, and adaptable to many different firearms. The BDX series is more or less designed for long-range shooting and is a 3-part system.
The first is the optic, the second is the range finder, and the third is your phone. Combine the three, and you can program in your ballistic data for your chosen load.
(See our full review of the BDX system here!)
Both the scope and rangefinder will use that info to register shots and advise you on proper elevation for your preset load. When aiming, an illuminated dot tells you where the bullet will fall and acts as your aiming reticle.
The SIG BDX is the perfect system for future hunters searching through abandoned cities for Radhorns or cybernetic deer. Perfect shots each and every time!

Shall I say, the BDX is invaluable for when that Boston Dynamics Dog thing remembers getting knocked over and is a few hundred yards away.
9. Surefire 2211 Watch/Light
Why have a thing that does one thing when you can have a thing that can do two? The Surefire 2211 is a watch that doubles as a flashlight. As a watch, it’s designed to be durable, rugged, and deliciously old school in its presentation.
The light is small, but potent and can fill most common sized rooms with lifesaving illumination. It’s perfect for navigating the seedy underworld in a neon-lit city.
Offering a 300 lumens with 1,100 candelas, don’t expect long-range use. For up close and personal work, this is an excellent and ergonomic light source that allows you to keep your hands open.
It even aligns with shooting a handgun should your weapon light fail.

10. KelTec KS7
The KS7 is the ultimate Cyberpunk gun. Blending a futuristic design with an old school look, this gun is seedy, bulky, but short and tactical.
Do you happen to be a future farmer who wants to keep the kids off their yard while blasting squirrels, deer, and those pesky robotic drones the kids all harass you with? Keltec’s got you, fam.
The KS7 is just a hair over 26-inches long and packs seven rounds of 12-gauge. Despite the power, it’s a short and light option for the cyborg looking to keep things concealed.
There’s a saying out there, “Bullpups are the weapon of the future, and they always will be.”
May be a dim perspective on bullpups, but if one were to survive, it would be the KS7.Â
Its reliable pump-action allows loads ranging from birdshot to buckshot. For those that want to spice it up, it can even adopt net rounds designed to take drones out of the sky.
Don’t forget dragon’s breath, electric rounds, and anything else you can shove into a shotgun’s hull.Â
Dispatch all the drones, from small flying bugs to drones on treads. The KS7 is a dumpster defender for the next generation of cyberpunk commando.Â

Firearms Manufacturers lack Imagination. Personally I would just like to see at least one Firearms manufacturer, to where we could get some futuristic/cyberpunk parts, and accessories, and/or firearms custom made. preferably without it costing us a ridiculously high price. yeah you can do allot with a 3d printer and there is a tone of us out there, that would love to have a firearm, that doesn't have that old mil-spec aesthetic of yesteryear. at 51yr old I would like to see some new designs. even if it is just aesthetically, instead of seeing the same looking firearm in circulation for over 50 years.
Walther competition 22 with all the rails is another good one. Beretta makes some future stuff to.
No love for the Chiappa Rhino? That's Blade Runnery.
