As a standalone firearm, the Olcan is a new bullpup rifle. As a lower receiver, it’s an affordable way to get into the bullpup game with a JAKL you already own. Both come in black or flat dark earth.

Olcan firearms come with a 14.5-inch barrel that’s pinned and welded to a muzzle device – take your pick from a Silencerco ASR flash hider or Dead Air KeyMo brake and add a suppressor.

The lower receiver features a Die Free Co. Kung Fu pistol grip and AR-15-style controls, including an ambidextrous magazine release (placement is just a little different since this is a bullpup).

The Olcan lower receiver is compatible with any JAKL upper receiver with a barrel of 10.5 inches or longer.

That includes 16-, 14.5-, 13.7-, and 10.5-inch barrels in 5.56 NATO, and 14.5-inch barrels in .300 Blk. It will not work with the 8.5-inch .300 Blk barrel.

As always, remember that your pistol-length JAKL is going to need some SBR paperwork before you mount it on an Olcan lower.

If you buy just the lower receiver, Palmetto State Armory will also provide a cheek riser so you’re not smushing your face into the JAKL’s Picatinny rail.

Palmetto State Armory lists an MSRP of $1,399 for the Olcan, or $499 for the lower receiver.
