Editor’s Note: Glock 19 is the most proven compact semi-automatic handgun on the market today. Chambered in 9mm Luger, the Glock 19 is a versatile compact version of the standard Glock option. It's great for use as a backup weapon, concealed carry, or service pistol. The Gen 5 in particular has made some great improvements which include an ambidextrous slide stop lever, flared mag-well, and upgraded barrel design, just to name a few. The G19 has been a favorite amongst police agencies and military units and for good reasons. The G19 is a popular choice for police agencies and military units for the reason that this gun is reliable, has decent ergonomics, and fits nicely concealed. There are a few drawbacks such as the plastic sights but there are tons of aftermarket parts such as glow-in-the-dark tritium night sights you can switch out with. G19 Gen 5 also made some great improvements over previous generations. The number of upgrades that can be added to this gun makes this a great CCW and home defense pick. I've shot this many times and it just handles so well. Never failed me before. I personally keep a Glock 17 in the closet for self-defense but this is a close 2nd choice.

I have the Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS (modular optic system) version which allows for a direct footprint mount of an optic. For mine, I chose the Holosun SCS which perfectly co-witnesses with the factory sights. And, it is a green dot, which is much easier to see. Killer set up.
I like to shoot the G19. It works really well!
Amazing gun. Easy to maintain, super reliable, shoots beautifully. The favorite of my 6 Glocks.
