Editor’s Note: "Overall a reliable and dependable CCW gun for a reasonable price (under $300). It’s certainly a step up from the G2C and usually only costs a few bucks more. Well worth the update!" - Johnny B.

The Taurus G3C is a compact and affordable CCW that has some nice improvements over its predecessor the G2C. It brings easy-to-reach controls with a nice grip. With the G3C, you get three magazines, front slide serrations, a better magwell, and Glock-compatible metal sights. If you're stuck between the G2C and the G3C we recommend going with the G3C. It's a few extra bucks but well worth it.
This is my first and only 9mm so far so, as a beginner, I can't compare it to a lot of other pistols but I have found it to be comfortable and easy to use with no problems whatsoever. The three magazines it comes standard with are nice although the springs are pretty stiff when new (I'm guessing that is common). The G2 was recommended to me as an inexpensive CCW but while I dithered the G3c became available and seemed like the perfect upgrade. So far I would recomend it to anyone looking for a smaller, lightweight, reliable 9mm for home defense, CCW or just fun target shooting. A beginner's two cents.
I'd give it a solid 5 if the trigger was improved...it seems very looong to me. I see there are some companies that offer different triggers that I may be looking into.
Out of the box mine has ran flawlessly. I also have the g3 full-size. It also has been a flawless gun. Both have around 1500 rounds through them and have had 0 malfunctions. I did put a lake line guide rod in both guns and have the factory rods put up for spares. All and all I enjoy shooting these guns just as much as my m&p or Glock. So far they both seem to be just as reliable.
