Did you think you’d be priced out of owning a thermal optic forever? Join the club.
Fortunately for us, the entry point for the thermal imaging market is dropping like a stone, and we can now snag a quality thermal monocular for less than some red dots.
The ATN Blaze Seeker 207 starts at just $439 and provides all the features new thermal owners need. If you want more performance, the new line includes the up-spec Blaze Seeker 210 for $529. ATN also announced the Blaze Trek line, which includes four more thermal monoculars in the $995 to $1,995 range.
At the heart of the Blaze Seeker 207 is its thermal core. The 256×192 sensor is definitely on the smaller side, but it’s adequate for detecting humans (and similarly sized critters) at 375 yards. This appears to be one of the main cost-saving components on the Blaze Seeker 207.

The 50Hz figure refers to the core’s refresh rate. In simpler terms, the core provides you with a fresh image 50 times per second. That’s faster than the human eye can detect, so you’ll get a very smooth view through this optic if you, your target, or both are in motion.
The sub-35mK figure is impressive because it suggests that the sensor is able to detect subtle differences in temperature to give you more than a glowing silhouette on the screen.

Looking through the optic, you can choose from five color modes: white hot, black hot, rainbow, iron red, and alarm. These and other settings can be controlled from the optic itself or the ATN Blaze app on your phone. You can also record photos and videos to the app.
All in all, this looks like a solid value for anyone interested in getting into thermal optics without blowing the budget on one of the higher-end units.
“The BlazeSeeker represents a significant advancement in the affordability of thermal imaging technology,” James Munn, the CEO for ATN, said. “Our goal with this product was to get the cost to a place where most people could have one for a hunt or camping trip with the family. To offer consumers a 256×192 Sensor at sub $500 is really remarkable.”
The rest of the Blaze Seeker and Blaze Trek thermal monoculars fill out the middle of ATN’s price range. Whether you’re prepping for the helicopter hog-hunting trip of a lifetime or checking your campsite for creatures before you crawl into your sleeping bag, there’s something for you.
ATN lists an MSRP of $439 for the Blaze Seeker 207 and $529 for the Blaze Seeker 210.
