For the past half-century, Bear Creek Arsenal has been on a mission to build quality rifles that the average American can afford. The North Carolina manufacturer has traditionally focused on the AR-15 platform, but its latest release is a fresh take on an old favorite.
The Bear Creek Arsenal BC-201 is a tack-driving semi-automatic .22 primed for range duty, varmint hunting, and keeping tin can populations in check.
The BC-201 looks familiar because it’s very similar to the ever-popular Ruger 10/22. It even uses 10-round 10/22 rotary magazines. The Hogue synthetic stock promises durability and comes with sling swivels built in.
What sets this rifle apart from casual plinking .22s is the stainless-steel barrel. It features a heavy contour and an 11-degree crowned muzzle for competition-worthy accuracy. Bear Creek Arsenal also upgraded the bolt and firing pin for superior accuracy.

The aluminum receiver comes with an integrated Picatinny rail where you can mount the optic of your choice. Don’t be shy about using magnification and a technical reticle because the barrel has the performance to take advantage of both.
New shooters will appreciate the BC-201’s light recoil and quiet report. Experienced shooters will love the enhanced accuracy offered by the match-grade barrel. This is a rifle you can cut your teeth on and then continue to enjoy for the rest of your life.

Bear Creek Arsenal made a name for itself with a huge selection of AR-15 rifles and pistols. Options span from pistol-caliber carbines and AR-15 pistols chambered for 9mm and .45 ACP to hunting ARs chambered for .300 Win Mag and .458 SOCOM.
The 201 joins other rimfire offerings in .22 LR, .22 WMR, and .17 HMR. It’s a departure from Bear Creek Arsenal’s AR-based rifles and pistols, but the company’s knack for machining and cues drawn from the Ruger 10/22 should prevent any new-model glitches.
Bear Creek Arsenal lists an MSRP of $345 for the BC-201.
