The B&T SPR86 offers the same accuracy and portability as the SPR300 but with a significantly heavier punch. How does an integrally suppressed special-purpose rifle chambered for 8.6 Blackout sound? All you need to do is add a scope.

The 9.9-inch barrel is rifled in 1:3 twist and comes with an integrated titanium suppressor. The system is optimized for both subsonic and supersonic ammunition.
It’s available in short-barreled rifle and pistol configurations that break down for easy, discreet transportation. In shooting condition, the overall length measures 40.7 inches.
The rifle comes as a kit that includes a rail extension for mounting accessories, a folding quick-detach bipod, two 10-round AR-10 magazines, and a soft padded case.
“8.6 Blackout is changing end-user requirements thanks to a substantial increase in capability in the form of effective range, intermediate barrier penetration, and terminal performance — when compared with 300BLK — without any sacrifice in platform weight or sound/flash performance,” Chris Mudgett, Vice President of Marketing for B&T USA, said.
“With a net increase of just 100 grams and an overall length increase of just over an inch, the SPR86 is the future.”
B&T lists an MSRP of $5,525 for the SPR86.
Nobody doubts the effectiveness of 8.6 BLK; the question is whether it’ll stick around long enough that we should invest in firearms chambered for it.
Every time a manufacturer releases something that shoots 8.6 BLK, we get closer to making it mainstream. The more mainstream it gets, the more available and affordable ammo gets. Ammo availability fuels firearm innovation, and the cycle continues.
