When Henry announced its Big Boy Revolvers in 2023, it was the first time the manufacturer offered a conventional handgun. They were timelessly good-looking, but you could only get them in .357 Mag (which also fires .38 Spl).
Now, Henry is following up on the Big Boy Revolver’s success with a rimfire version.
Henry Golden Boy Revolvers can fire .22 S, .22 L, and .22 LR with all the style and craftsmanship of their centerfire siblings.

Reducing the cartridge from .357 Mag to .22 LR increases capacity from 6 to 10 on the new rimfire revolvers.
The Golden Boy retains the Big Boy’s blued steel frame, brass backstrap, trigger guard, and American walnut grips. Those grips come in two shapes: gunfighter for control and birdshead for concealment.
For sights, we get a notch rear sight and three screw-in blade front sights on the end of the four-inch barrel.
These may be rimfire plinkers, but they’re still high-end pieces of machinery. Henry uses hand-fitted internal components to make sure the double-action trigger is smooth and consistent, single-action shots are light and crisp, and accuracy is on par with what we expect from a nearly-$1,000 Henry firearm. Well, at least as accurate as .22-caliber rimfire ammunition, anyway.
So, who are Golden Boy Revolvers for? That’s an interesting question.
Rimfire handguns and rifles are typically inexpensive. The ammunition isn’t exceedingly accurate, power is only suitable for target shooting, and the smallest game animals, and most shooters just aren’t interested in shelling out top dollar for that kind of thing.
Henry lists an MSRP of $928 for the Golden Boy Revolver.
That’s not exactly pocket change, so you’ll have to love shooting .22 LR to justify spending that kind of money on one of these.
Then again, these appear to be high-quality items you can put thousands of rounds through and hand down as family heirlooms. If you’re looking for a multi-generational target gun or a snake slayer to lay down the law on the ranch, this could be just the revolver for you.
