Who doesn’t love a good lever gun?
Henry Repeating Arms just pulled the cover off the company’s first 2025 release: the Lever Action Supreme Rifle, or LASR.
To my eye, it looks like the next evolution of the Long Ranger, a rifle that opened the cartridge catalog to the lever-action world.

Like the Long Ranger, it’s available in 5.56 NATO or .300 AAC Blackout. There are significant changes, though.
The walnut stock gets a more ergonomic profile with a pistol grip that will feel natural to shooters coming from modern sporting rifles. The tang safety, on the other hand, comes from the world of classic hunting firearms. The deep checkering remains, but we now get an oversized hoop that leaves plenty of room for gloves.
Both chamberings of the new LASR use standard AR-style magazines and the rifle ships with one 10-round Magpul PMAG. Henry also includes a five-round limiter for states that restrict capacity while hunting.
An AR-style bolt bodes well for reliable feeding and extraction, and the whole mechanism is sealed off from the elements; there’s no exposed hammer this time. You’ll also get an adjustable trigger that Henry describes as match-grade.
The LASR comes with a blade front and a fully adjustable rear sight, but the receiver is also drilled and tapped for scope mounts. Given the cartridge options, good glass seems like a mandatory upgrade.
Want to add a suppressor? Go right ahead! The muzzle of the free-floating 18” 5.56 NATO barrel is threaded in 1/2×28 and the 16.5” .300 BLK barrel has 5/8×24 threads.
Henry lists an MSRP of $1,299 for the Lever Action Supreme Rifle.
Now for the big question: what cartridges will get added to the LASR lineup?
Henry builds the Long Ranger in .243 Win, 7.62 NATO (.308 Win), and 6.5 Creedmoor. Could we see those options come to the LASR? What other options would you like to have (and am I the only one who wants to see this thing shoot 8.6 Blackout)?

An old-school-looking rifle that uses AR-15 ammo! What's not to like?
I wish I had the money to buy one.
