A new polymer wonder-nine just hit the market, but this isn’t another unobtainable boutique pistol that the vast majority of us will never be able to afford.

The Rost Martin RM1C is a CCW pistol loaded with features we want at a price that undercuts most manufacturers – and it’s made in Dallas, Texas.

The RM1C is optic-ready; you can use an adapter plate to mount your red dot of choice. An RMR plate is included, and Rost Martin sells Docter/Noblex, Delta Point Pro, and Shield plates for $22.50 each.

The low bore axis and 4-inch hammer-forged barrel bode well for accuracy. Features like front and top slide serrations, an ambidextrous magazine release, and a Tenifer-coated slide are nice surprises on something this affordable.

The RM1C is also very tough.

“Our preproduction stress test and validation included testing the limits of our pistol up to 50,000 rounds, submersion in sand, water, ice, mud, and extensive drop testing without failure,” Chris Toomer, the CEO of Rost Martin, said in a press release.

At 15+1, this is a compelling CCW pistol that’s easy to conceal without sacrificing capacity. You can also get 17-round magazines.

While the RM1C isn’t a clone of someone else’s design, Rost Martin seems to have cherry-picked elements from popular pistols to give customers what they want.

The takedown tabs and slide release will look familiar to Glock fans, but the almost verticle grip angle looks more like something from the Smith & Wesson M&P series.

Rost Martin’s in-house Responsive Grip Texturing bites harder the more you squeeze it, just like the texture on a Springfield Echelon. With three colors available (black, gray, and FDE), this might remind you of a Canik.

Building a solid carry gun is one thing, but it’s only viable if we can find holsters. Rost Martin worked with ANR Design, Blackpoint Tactical, Crossbreed, DeSantis, and We the People to ensure RM1C holsters were available from day one.

This is the first model Rost Martin has released to the public. It appears to be well-designed, and we’re keeping an eye on the company to see what comes out of Dallas next.

Rost Martin lists an MSRP of $459 for the RM1C.

You've listed a lot of pistols similar to the RM1C -- why not also mention the Arex Delta? The RM1C's frame is very similar to the Delta's, and Rost Martin even confirmed that Arex is one of their project partners.
