Ruger just made what has to be one of the biggest new product drops of 2024.
The Ruger American Rifle Generation II just got 36 new variants. That includes 18 for the new Predator series, 11 for the Standard series, and seven for the Ranch series.
For those keeping track, this brings us to a total of 47 Ruger American Rifle Generation II configurations covering 20 cartridges (21 if you separate 223 Rem and 5.56 NATO, which we recommend if you don’t want to blow your gun up).

Ruger added a stiffer stock for Generation II rifles that’s adjustable for comb height and length of pull with spacers. The tang safety now has three positions: trigger locked/bolt locked, trigger locked/bolt unlocked, and trigger unlocked/bolt unlocked. The three-lug bolt is now made from stainless steel.
Standard rifles come with a gray Cerkaote barreled action, a gray stock, and a 20-inch barrel.

Ranch rifles have a black Cerakote barrel, a tan stock, and a 16-inch barrel that slips behind the seat of your truck a little easier.
Predator rifles get a tan Cerakote barreled action, a green stock, and a 22-inch barrel for extra velocity.
All three series feature a threaded barrel topped with a radial muzzle brake from the factory.
The cartridge offerings vary by series. Standard and Predator rifles come chambered for popular hunting cartridges ranging from .204 Ruger to .300 Win Mag, with a few straight-walled cartridges mixed in. Ranch rifles cater to rounds like 5.56 NATO, .300 Blackout, and 7.62×39.
Ruger lists an MSRP of $729 for the entire American Rifle Generation II line.
