Sig Sauer shared some really interesting news recently – and no, I’m not talking about that angry social media post about the P320.
I’m talking about the second release from Sig’s in-house custom shop for military firearms. The Sig Sauer Special Weapons Group MCX-RATTLER LT is an exclusive opportunity to get a taste of the U.S. Special Operations Command’s hot new PDW.

This compact AR-15 features a few nice touches that you won’t find on the base model.

The unique SOCOM upper receiver comes with a handguard that features QD points and a barricade stop in addition to M-LOK slots. At the rear, there’s either a telescoping stock or a pistol brace.
As you might expect from a SOCOM fighting rifle, this MCX-RATTLER LT comes with a cold-hammer-forged barrel with chrome lining and 1:7 twist to stabilize heavier bullets like 77-grain JHP.
This kit comes with a bunch of nice add-ons, just like it does when Uncle Sam orders it for top operators.

These include a unique set of Special Weapons Group flip-up iron sights, one- and two-point slings from Magpul, three 30-round magazines, three 20-round magazines, and a Pelican case.
The upper receiver comes with a forward assist installed, but it’s interchangeable with an included flush-mount deflector.
Oh, and Sig includes a certificate of authenticity, so everyone knows you’re one of the 500 cool kids who got one of these.
Sig Sauer lists an MSRP of $2,999.99 for the Special Weapons Group MCX-RATTLER LT.
The bad news? Sig sold out as I was writing this. But maybe that response from the buying public will inspire them to offer more Special Weapons Group firearms down the road. After all, it sold a lot better than the Australian MOD F9 that’s still up for grabs.
Would you buy a Special Weapons Group firearm if you had the chance? Is this just a publicity stunt for Sig’s wealthiest customers? Did you feel personally victimized by Sig’s P320 post?

Lol at your beginning line, I only heard about it from Herrera.
If I had the chance for a SOCOM gun? Possibly. Would I spend over $3k for a pdw/sbr in 5.56? Absolutely not. There's way better options for those imo. (Seriously debating on the CMMG Banshee in 10mm)
Was I offended on what I heard from SIG? There's a deeper problem in SIG if their publicity is THAT blatantly Elitist and out of touch. All I have to say on that drama.
