Smith & Wesson added a new pistol caliber carbine to its inventory, announcing the S&W Response.
The Response offers a 23+1 capacity and stands out as the company’s first MSR-style PCC – which means it works alongside existing MSR-style accessories.
The most notable feature comes in the form of what Smith & Wesson calls the Flexmag system. This system delivers interchangeable magwell adapters that allow the Response to use Smith & Wesson magazines as well as mags from other manufacturers like Glock.

Equipped with a 16.5” threaded barrel, this PCC brings a Picatinny-style rail and M-LOK slots for accessory mounting.
Additional features include Magpul MOE SL stock, flat face trigger, and an M&P grip with four interchangeable palm swell adapters to allow users to get the best fit for them.
Smith & Wesson says the Response brings an easily customizable experience to users who like a little flexibility with their guns.
“The Smith & Wesson Response is our solution for the PCC shooter that enjoys MSR platforms and prefers interfacing capabilities with various pistol magazines available in the market today,” John Myles, Senior Product Manager for S&W, said in a news release.
“Its compatibility with the vast network of MSR aftermarket accessories allows the user to easily customize the Response to their specific preferences and needs.”
The Smith & Wesson Response ships with two 23-round double-stack mags. It retails for $799.

I like the folding stock model of the SW FPC. Shoots great. Wouldl have liked Glock mags with it, though.
