New Product Highlight: Streamlight TLR-7 HL-X

If you’re not running a light on your pistol, you’re missing out on a massive capability advantage. The best part is that you don’t have to miss out just because you don’t want to lug around a full-size pistol.

The new Streamlight TLR-7 HL-X weapon light fits compact pistols and provides big-time illumination when needed.

What’s different about this new TLR-7 variant? It’s way more powerful than its predecessors.

The TLR-7 HL-X offers double the lumens and more than four times the candela of the TLR-7 X (which we’re already fans of). That makes it brighter, but, more importantly, it pierces twice as far into the darkness, so you can see 297 meters instead of 140 meters.

This pistol light comes with a Streamlight SL-B9 rechargeable battery, which you’ll want to use for maximum power output. It’ll also work with a CR123 battery, but output will drop to 500 lumens, 11,000 candela, and a 210-meter maximum beam distance. Run time increases to 90 minutes with a CR123.

The TLR-7 HL-X weighs just shy of 3 ounces, so if you carry a Glock 19, Sig Sauer P365 X-Macro, or anything else in that size ballpark, this pistol light will lighten the load.

“This latest addition to the TLR-7 line is a high lumen light that is engineered to produce a far-reaching, tighter beam, which helps put more light on a target at a distance,” Ray Sharrah, Streamlight’s president and CEO, said.

“Whether conducting room clearing, search operations or other maneuvers under low-light conditions, the TLR-7 HL-X USB gives law enforcement professionals, military personnel and other first responders sweeping bright light, while also delivering an intense down-range beam. And with its multi-fuel design, users can select the battery option that best suits the situation at hand.”

Streamlight lists an MSRP of $295 for the TLR-7 HL-X. You’ll have to shell out $310 if you want it in FDE.
