Off-body carry used to be a pretty controversial topic in the shooting world, but we love it! That’s partially due to manufacturers coming out with some really innovative ways to safely conceal a pistol in various backpacks, sling bags, and fanny packs.
Verx just updated its line of CCW-friendly bags with the Everyday Fanny Pack 2.0. The bag is a collaboration with competitive shooter and instructor Lena Miculek, and it’s as stylish as it is practical.
We got the scoop on this bag from Miculek herself, so let’s dig in and see what version 2.0 is all about!

This is an update, so what’s new?
Compared to its predecessor, this bag comes with more water-resistant fabric, a more secure buckle, a softer strap material, and new colors.
Vertx includes some of its most popular accessories with the Everyday Fanny Pack 2.0, like a Rapid Access Tab and a modular holster accessory to secure your IWB holster.
You can mount the Rapid Access Tab on the zipper or a loop inside the pistol compartment. That way, instead of unzipping the bag like you normally would, you can just yank the tab to pop open the compartment with one smooth motion.
The bag’s main compartment is big enough for everyday necessities like your phone (including oversized phones like the Samsung Note 4), a tourniquet, a flashlight, and car keys.
If you want to add a layer of protection, you can! Premier Body Armor makes a Level IIIA armor insert just for the Everyday Fanny Pack.

This is a small bag for small pistols like the Sig Sauer P365 Rose we reviewed.
One problem I see with a lot of CCW bags is an over-reliance on looking cool to shooters. Yes, we like tactical gear, but the whole point of carrying concealed is not advertising the fact that you’re armed.
“Creating something that’s both low-profile and stylish was definitely a priority for me,” Miculek told Pew Pew Tactical. “I wanted this fanny pack to be something you’d feel comfortable and confident wearing anywhere, from the grocery store or coffee shop to a hiking trail or range practice.”
The Everyday Fanny Pack 2.0 does an excellent job of flying under the radar. It’s just a good-looking fanny pack that happens to have a functional pistol compartment.
“Innovative, accessible products are crucial because they remove barriers for people who may have hesitated to carry before,” Miculek said. “For so long, the options for CCW gear were limited, especially for women.
“I believe these kinds of products help empower more people to take control of their safety because they’re finally getting the tools that work with their lives, not just around them. Plus, being able to offer something that’s both functional and appealing for everyday use is a way to show that preparedness can be part of a normal, active lifestyle.”
“For me, the Everyday Fanny Pack 2.0 is about helping more people—women in particular—realize that they can be both confident and capable without compromising on style or practicality.”
Still not sure if off-body carry is right for you? Take advice from a pro.
“Off-body carry isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay!” Miculek said. “For those who are curious, I’d say start by asking yourself a few questions: Are you comfortable knowing your firearm is with you but not on your person? How quickly can you access it if you need to? And does it fit in with your day-to-day routines?
“If off-body carry seems right, make sure you train with it, practice drawing from your bag, and really make it a habit. The Everyday Fanny Pack 2.0 was designed to make that process as smooth and intuitive as possible, but at the end of the day, carry methods should suit you personally.”
Vertx lists an MSRP of $64.99 for the Everyday Fanny Pack 2.0.

Those are the dumbest things I have ever seen. Take a fanny pack & sling it over your shoulder? Screams I'm carrying a gun. You might as well open carry.
