Vertx gained popularity by serving up functional clothing and CCW-friendly bags. Now, the company is offering something for trips that last days or weeks, not hours.
The Road Less Traveled series of duffel bags come in three different sizes. All of them come with the same durability, features, and low profile we expect from Vertx.

The Vertx RLT Duffel Series starts with a 50-liter duffel aimed at taking weekend trips or storing emergency gear in your vehicle. Carry it like a backpack with the included padded straps, or detach them and carry it like a tote – there are exterior handles all over this thing, so you can snatch it out of an overhead bin.
Throw a TSA-approved lock on the YKK zipper for an extra layer of security if you need it. Take your pick from black or olive drab green.
Next up is the 80-liter duffel. It also comes with removable shoulder straps and stowable side handles that don’t get in the way of the exterior side compartment. It’s everything you like about the 50-liter duffel but with more room for longer trips. This model is available in black or OD green.
It’s easy to load down a 100-liter bag until it’s too heavy to carry, so Vertx gave the 100-liter RLT duffel wheels and a pull-up handle so you can pull it like a rolling suitcase. An internal frame keeps it rigid, while the duffel-style exterior is easy to stuff full or cinch down depending on how much gear you bring. This one only comes in black.
Since these are made for commercial travel, you’ll get a mesh ID holder no matter which one you choose. All three come with a water-resistant ripstop exterior and a light-colored interior that makes it easier to see everything you packed.
As always with Vertx, one of the biggest selling points is the ability to customize. Organize your gear however you want with Tactigami accessories. Add Rapid Access Tabs to your zippers – I used one on the SOCP fanny pack and appreciated how easy it made ripping into the CCW compartment.
Vertx lists pricing starting at $179.99 for the 50-liter duffel, $224.99 for the 80-liter duffel, and $349.99 for the 100-liter roller duffel. You can also bundle bags to get a full set.
